Visa has been mailed

Yesterday, I took a trip to the Immigration Center in Charleston to get my fingerprints and a photograph taken. We had to get wanded and patted down and everything else, just for fingerprints. Dad had his boyscout knife (dullest thing ever) and he had to leave to put it in the car. But once we got in, my dad and mom, Trey and I were seriously the only white people there in a room of about 15. Ridiculous.

Trey is such a blessing because I definitely didn't know how to answer any of my questions on the rest of my application. But he figured it out and we knocked it out in 30 minutes. I had to write several letters and go to the bank to get a statement and then I mailed it today. The British Consulate will be receiving in next week and I will hopefully get in a couple of weeks after that.

In Europe news: http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1949260,00.html

Hopefully, the Eurostar will be up and running by the time we get there because this would be a very efficient way to get around over there.

And.. I was looking through the travel books that Trey has and within 40 km of Aberdeen are 4 distilleries and like 7 castles. I am so freakin excited!

Merry Christmas all :)

34 days!

Monday, December 14, 2009

So as I am laying here half unconscious from my wisdom teeth surgery this morning, I can't help but to get beyond excited about leaving for Scotland. My parents are in the process of planning a trip to come visit me during my month long break for Easter. Hopefully, we'll get to go to some pretty neat places (London, France, etc). I'm also trying to convince Trey for a trip to Paris on Valentine's Day :)

I received another packet from Aberdeen yesterday explaining to how officially join the University. Most of it I cannot do until I arrive on January 28. I spent an hour or so chatting with some people from Aberdeen asking them questions about weekends and things to do and most importantly the weather. I am getting really excited for any weekend adventure that me and Trey or just me might get to take. This time last year, studying abroad was just a dream and now it's finally about to come true. God is SO awesome when it comes to answering prayers like that! From what they said about the weather is to expect an average of 40 and it rarely snows.. but it does rain. I can get used to that.

I am currently trying to fill out my visa application. It's not difficult just tedious and annoying. At least I have some time to get it down since I am forced to stay in bed for the next few days.

45 more days!
